If the “Indicator Lock” is not locked in the correct sequence after being opened, the misaligned geometric pattern on the face will alert the owner to it being operated by someone other than themselves. This piece was inspired by locks from the 18th and 19th century with features that would alert the owner of unapproved activity.

This lock is modeled after a Japanese style padlock. The key acts as a comb to squeeze together a forge welded spring which releases the sliding hasp. The face of the lock is adorned with brass rosettes and fine silver/copper mokume gane panels.
